In the 15th century, the Incan Emperor Pachacútec built a city in the clouds on the mountain known as Machu Picchu (“old mountain”). This extraordinary settlement lies halfway up the Andes Plateau, deep in the Amazon jungle and above the Urubamba River. It was probably abandoned by the Incas because of a smallpox outbreak and, after the Spanish defeated the Incan Empire, the city remained ‘lost’ for over three centuries. It was rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911.

This statue of Jesus stands some 38 meters tall, atop the Corcovado mountain overlooking Rio de Janeiro. Designed by Brazilian Heitor da Silva Costa and created by French sculptor Paul Landowski, it is one of the world’s best-known monuments. The statue took five years to construct and was inaugurated on October 12, 1931. It has become a symbol of the city and of the warmth of the Brazilian people, who receive visitors with open arms.

The ruins at Polonnaruwa are a definite highlight of Sri Lanka and should not be missed. Most of the ruins date from the 11th to the 13th century and are masterpieces of the Buddhist Sinhalese kingdom, though there are a few Hindu temples mixed in as well since the South Indian Cholas (an early and medieval Tamil kingdom) also had their capital here before they were defeated by King Vijayabahu I in 1056.

Baker’s waterfall is one of very beautiful waterfalls in Sri Lanka. This waterfalls is height about 22 meters. It is very beautiful because in various corners we can see various sceneries. The waterfall like steps, In top side we can see a pool and this point fall divide more than thousand of parts and made beautiful scenery in middle of the fall. Below the middle of fall there has another waterfall. It also very beautiful. Include all things and fall become the most beautiful waterfall in Sri Lanka.
There has the tree which inside of Baker’s Waterfall. It gives more valuable to fall. You can’t take a photo without this tree. This fall is situate at Horton plains. If you travel to visit Worlds End via Horton plains don’t miss to visit this place. Some person has missed to visit this place because they don’t think there has very beautiful and very big this type of waterfall. How we believe this.

They are found in south and central America,Africa, in the islands around Australia and Asia.The rainforests are important to human existence and the surroundings.Rainforests are a rich source of medicinal plants, food and useful forest products.They maintain about 50% of the plant animals, bird reptile and insect species of the world.These forests help to maintain a regular rainfall.They also stand as a buffer against floods,droughts and erosion.These forests produce a significant amount of the world’s oxygen.
